Work Schedule: Every 6th weekend 7am-7pm rotation, otherwise no assigned hours.

Summary:

The Radiographer performs radiologic and CT examinations in accordance with all state/federal safety regulations. The Radiographer is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply prescribed amount of radiation for the purpose of obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by the radiologist.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, and CT scanning utilizing equipment in accordance with department protocols.

  • Performs all duties in a timely manner with minimum waste of supplies, materials, and time.

  • Acts as resource to all patients, physicians, and staff in a polite manner - referring to another resource when necessary.

  • Prepares and/or administers contrast material.

  • Takes call (within 20 minutes from Organization or onsite) as required by departmental needs.

  • Schedule Imaging exams as needed.

  • Complete charges and other clerical duties as required by shift.

  • Learn PACS and assist providers as needed.

  • Maintains equipment in good working operating condition and operates equipment according to department and manufacturing recommendation.

  • Prepares and orients patients to the procedures and provides patient education.

  • Communicates necessary information to the radiologist for exam interpretation

  • Provides assistance in continuous quality improvement.

  • Follows established safety methods and procedures in accordance with the department policies and documenting exam exposure factor.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Maintains department according to procedures

  • Assists other departments in duties as requested and in accordance with Radiology scope of practice.

  • Maintain a safe environment which includes knowing and understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Report and directly address identified environmental hazards when appropriate.

  • Report and directly address violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.

  • Other duties as requested by Director.

Other Information:

Required a Rad Tech State license and an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or registry eligible.
