  • Graduate Nurses :

  • $15,000 sign-on bonus for eligible 2024 and 2025 graduates.

  • Experienced Nurses :

  • $20,000 sign-on bonus for nurses with 1+ years of experience.

UPMC Presbyterian, a Magnet designated hospital , is currently hiring Full-Time Registered Nurses to support the Adult Acute Care Units. The Division of Adult Acute Care is the single largest group to admit patients to the general medicine service at UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore Hospitals!

Our General Medicine patient population is comprised of patients of all ages being treated for a wide array of conditions who need compassionate and expert nursing care.

About the Unit:

11S an 18-bed all private acuity Adult Care unit has unique patient population, including hepatology, endocrinology, pulmonary, and infectious diseases.

  • Teaching Unit :

  • Designed for graduate nurses or those expanding inpatient experience.

  • Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care :

  • Deliver compassionate, relationship-based care addressing clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.

  • BSN preferred.

  • The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.

  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.

  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.

  • Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse

  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Must complete licensure examination within FOUR MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first. Though temporary permits are valid for one year from the date of graduation, not one year from issue of permit (or until the results of the examination are known at which time it becomes null and void), UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 4 months of their start date or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU.
