Reference #: 2022217 Carnegie Mellon University's Finance Division provides financial management, enterprise planning and stewardship in support of education, research and strategic goals of the university. By providing data, insight, and analysis, we assist leadership and the university community in the financial decisions that fulfill its mission while maintaining a position of financial strength. Carnegie Mellon University's department of Finance is searching for a Sponsored Research Accountant to join their team.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

Your core responsibilities will include: Perform a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements Provide professional-level administrative and fiscal support within a post-award sponsored project accounting environment and be responsible for proactively managing the associated function Actively manage financial reporting deadlines in support of sponsored projects Leading a portfolio and taking actions, making decisions and resolving issues within the constraints established by federal, funding agency or other institutional policy or regulation Interpreting sponsor regulations and institutional policies and procedures

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required 3-5 years of accounting experience required A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Additional Information: Work Posture: This position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in office presence two days a week. Sponsorship: Applicantsfor this positionmust becurrentlylegally authorized to workfor CMUin the United States.
