Philips Senior Systems Test Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Senior Systems Test Engineer designs, develops, evaluates, and conducts integration, testing, and verification activities of (elements of) products with focus on mechanical, electrical and (embedded) software aspects and concludes this with formal reporting. Defines, implements, and maintains reliable and reproducible testing methodologies and equipment, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.

Please note: Due to the consolidation of our sites, this role will start at the Bakery Square office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will move to another site in the greater Pittsburgh area by the end of the year. This change will bring our teams in western Pennsylvania closer together to remain competitive and committed to our customers, clinicians, and patients and create value with sustainable impact.

Your role:

  • Lead the coordination all Validation & Verification (V&V) activities necessary to support the release of new and updated medical devices.

  • Utilize standard development procedures and project management skills to assess and test the requirements of electromechanical medical devices at the part, sub-system, and system level, investigate test issues, and assist V&V technicians.

  • Ensure customer needs are met, to include coordination of Validation activities, to ensure higher confidence, reliability, and satisfaction in products released to market.

  • Maintain a level of technical competence through training, literature, technical contacts, and industry competition.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 5+ years of experience in V&V of ventilators, sleep therapy devices, oxygen concentrators, personal wellness devices, and associated accessories.

  • Your skills include a solid understanding of engineering disciplines, developing V&V test plans, test procedures, requirements trace matrices, and test reports, validating test methods (TMV) and a working knowledge of global medical device regulations, requirements, and standards.

  • You have a B.S. in engineering/science discipline or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant experience OR MS in engineering/science discipline or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

  • You have the ability to adapt conventional techniques to solve complex problems, demonstrated use of skills to overcome technical challenges, and can plan and manage assignments of significant technical scope.

  • You are also able to communicate at all levels of the organization, work on a variety of simple and complex problems, support many projects, and work independently to meet project goals.
