Description:

Pittsburgh Mercy has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our ambulatory team located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The schedule for this full-time opportunity is Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

The selected candidate will be responsible for psychiatric services of the units assigned, under the terms of the Collaborative Agreement between the Nurse Practitioner and the collaborating Physician.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct psychiatric services through comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of assigned patients

Provide emergency crisis intervention during routine working hours

Provide on-call coverage during non-routine hours (as necessary)

Follow established clinical practice guidelines

Collaboration with Others

Adhere to all provisions of the Collaborative Agreement between the Nurse Practitioner and the Collaborating Organizations physician

Provide clinical supervision and consultation to treatment teams

Provide education to the unit staff about relevant clinical issues in both formal and informal settings

Participate in administrative duties as assigned.

Communicate appropriately, following confidentiality guidelines, with internal and external providers to ensure quality and continuity of care

Documentatio n

Medical record documentation will be in compliance with policies and procedures.

Maintain a Pennsylvania Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license, Pennsylvania Prescriptive Authority, and controlled substance registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration

Abide by the credentialing and re-credentialing policy.

Maintain participation in Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payer programs as required by administration.

Interested candidates will have completed a PMHNP program and be licensed and certified to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
