Research Lab Technician

Dr. Napierala's laboratory at the School of Dental Medicine studies the molecular bases of human diseases affecting skeletal and dental structures. The lab is embedded in a vibrant and highly collaborative environment of the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration and Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences.

Job Summary

 

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.

 

Essential Functions

1) Assuring laboratory safety and compliance with all policies and regulations; 2) Maintaining a functional, orderly lab, assuring that the lab is timely supplied with all reagents and supplies necessary for conducting planned experiments, and preparing laboratory reagents; 3) Maintaining research animals colony, breeding animals according to an experimental plan, and performing basic procedures on research animals; genotyping; 4) Assisting with experimental animals' tissue collection for histological and molecular analyses; 5) Basic histological tissue.

Pre-employment screening includes: Drug Test, TB Test, and a Physical.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
