We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining project logs, updating schedules, preparing and processing shop drawings, and providing support to the Project Manager to ensure successful project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain project logs such as Submittal Log and RFI Log

  • Maintain and update project schedules

  • Identify the need for and write RFIs

  • Prepare, review, and process shop drawings

  • Maintain as-built drawings

  • Analyze and draft Purchase Orders and Subcontract Scopes

  • Take and manage daily photos

  • Document management and distribution

  • Design and propose value engineering solutions

  • Coordinate with Subcontractors and Vendors

  • Provide the Project Manager with support and accurate information to maximize project management effectiveness

Essential Skills

  • Experience in commercial construction

  • Project management skills

  • Proficient in RFI and Change Order processes

  • Experience in project engineering and coordination

  • Proficient in maintaining submittal logs and shop drawings

  • Experience with scheduling

  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

  • Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards

  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and other construction documents

  • Understanding of Job Costs and Associated Cash-Flow

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction or Engineering, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in commercial construction

Work Environment

  • The position will be based on-site in a trailer with three superintendents.

  • The upcoming project involves a renovation of Dick's Sporting Goods (both interior and exterior) in Polaris, OH.

  • The Project Engineer will report to the Pittsburgh-based Project Manager and is expected to relocate to Pittsburgh after six months.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.81 - $34.62
