A postdoctoral position specializing in redox biology and sickle cell disease is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Adam C. Straub at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. The laboratory's current research projects delve into mechanistic studies of cardiovascular redox signaling in both physiological and pathological contexts, with a particular emphasis on nitroalkene-mediated effects and signaling in sickle cell disease.

Essential research skills for this position include proficiency in animal work, flow cytometry, and standard molecular and cellular biology techniques. The ideal candidate should possess experience in sickle cell disease research. Although prior experience with human cell culture is desirable, it is not mandatory. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent written and oral communication skills. Salary will be commensurate with experience and aligned with current NIH guidelines.

Qualified candidates holding a PhD in genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, animal physiology, pharmacology, or a related field are invited to apply.
