The position will apply engineering skills to projects involving mines, linear utilities, ground stabilization, linear utilities, geotechnical investigations, landfills, construction projects, brownfields redevelopment, and other geotechnical projects while further developing/enhancing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Civil design, vapor mitigation design, landfill design, and site layout; Geotechnical engineering analyses such as slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, seismic, and seepage; Geotechnical and environmental site characterization; Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems; Project/task management and proposal preparation; Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications; and Fieldwork and Field Team supervision associated with design and construction services. Based on your current level of experience, you may be asked to take on task-level or project management responsibilities, along with business development, and staff mentoring tasks.

Education and Licensure

Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering. (required) Advanced degree in the same. (preferred) Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G.) (preferred)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

At least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) Experience with modeling/design tools such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, Vadose/W, Sigma/W, FLAC, and ARCGIS. (preferred) Fieldwork and overnight travel. (as necessary) Excellent writing and communication skills. (required) Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required. Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
