Laboratory Technician

 

The laboratory technician will assist with ongoing research related to macrophage biology and macrophage fibroblast paracrine signaling. This will comprise of a variety of activities including, but not limited to: assist with cell culture experiments, assist with molecular biology -- RNA extraction, qPCR, ELISA, western blot, genotyping, agarose gels, record, analyze and compile experimental data, Flow cytometry and analysis of flow cytometry data, animal colony management and maintenance

Job Summary

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.

Essential Functions * Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods demonstrated by relevant lab experience/coursework * Experience using software for quantitative and qualitative data analysis * Strong oral and written communication skills * Meticulous attention to detail * Strong organizational and interpersonal skills * Ability to multitask and work successfully in a team environment * Ability to work independently as well as to seek support when necessary * Proficiency with MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Experience with Google Workspace (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms) Physical Effort

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
