Laboratory Research Technician

 

Laboratory Research Technician IV, working as Lab Manager, to serve as a semi-independent researcher in a laboratory conducting biochemical, genetic and molecular studies with cultured cells, mice and Drosophila. The candidate will organize laboratory function, maintain laboratory equipment and computers, train and supervise students and postdoctoral fellows, design and trouble shoot experiments and conduct experimental projects. Assistant researchers in the design and planning of protocols and experiments related to their individual research projects. Candidate should have at least 7+ years of experience in a laboratory necessary or an MS degree and several years of research experience. High level of knowledge in genetics, animal models and cell biology research required.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of independent and complex laboratory work and experiments. Analyzes and interprets data, compiles results, and prepares reports. Maintains inventory, ordering, and logs. Writes manuscripts and grant proposals and prepares data visualizations.

Essential Functions

Conduct experiments, move equipment when necessary, put away supplies an work at computer terminal.

Physical Effort

Must stand and walk for extended periods to conduct experiments. Must carry bottles of reagents, trays of media, and move equipment.
