UPMC Interface Analyst - Senior in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC is looking for an Interface Analyst Senior to join their team. This position will be fully remote.

Description

Independently designs, codes, tests and installs interfaces in an effort to provide an integrated set of data to users. Ability to lead basic projects and mentor less experienced team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and debugs communications with the foreign system. Perform unit, integrated and volume testing with vendor, application analyst and/or users.

  • Self-Development: Responsible for continuous self-study, trainings, partnering with more senior members of team, and/or seeking out opportunities to broaden scope to stay up to date with industry and organizational trends. Seeks feedback from senior team members for development and effectively incorporates feedback into work and behaviors.

  • Project Management Skills - Works with project manager to develop realistic work estimates, financial budgets, and project schedules. Assists and mentors others involved with project planning and execution. Measures progress toward goals and revises work plan accordingly. Reviews project deliverables for accuracy and provides assistance and mentoring to others. Proactively apprises management of issues effecting project status and offer solutions to solve the issues.

  • Code interfaces using an integration engine. Generate inbound and outbound translation maps for data records. Define and codes translations. Identify and implement the required data routing paths.

  • Review vendor interface specifications for ancillary systems. Define the needs of each party touched by the interface. Review business processes surrounding or changed by implementation of the interface. Determine and address potential issues with each party. Begin integration discussions with vendor and other sites.

  • Document, trouble-shoots and corrects production system issues. Offer interface solutions where necessary as systems or business processes are upgraded and/or replaced. Provide second level support for complex interface-related support issues.

  • Systems Technical Support - Plans, coordinates, develops, and maintains operating systems, regardless of complexity. Answers complex technical questions and corrects deficiencies in operating systems or related software. Acts as project leader for projects dealing with overall operating system, mainframe, network, etc. Acts as primary technical contact for a complex technology.

  • Assist senior staff by participating in operational design interface planning and review. Work with senior staff to establish interface milestones and manage the interface components of the project plan.

  • Work with vendor and analysts to design a go live plan for implementation of the interface taking into consideration data, timing and current business processes. Address any data issues such as back-loading or converting data as needed. Responsible for the migration of new integration, to the production environment, while assuring minimal interruption to users and the institution.

  • Communication: Responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day to day work and projects.

  • Provide service to ISD client community, patients, families and visitors, while protecting the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information through physical and electronic measures.

  • Design interface specifications. Negotiate solutions to implementation issues with vendor and analysts. Write interface specifications that address and meet the needs of the ancillary department, the requirements of the vendor and the requirements of UPMC while adhering to the HL7 and UPMC standards. Assure vendor implementation and adheres to project specifications.

  • Write supporting documentation for interface including operations procedures for maintenance of interface and trouble-shooting documentation for support and technical documentation for interface team.

  • Work with application project teams to monitor progress, chairs checkpoint meetings, and provides effective issue tracking. Participate in internal and application meetings, conference calls, and all other implementation activities.

Qualifications

· Typically has 5+ years of related work experience, Prefer HL7 interfaces and HL7 Integration Engines

· Experience with the Linux command line preferred.

· Proficiently applies IT methods, professional knowledge, and UPMC standards and practices.

· Recognize subtle problems with system design or performance and acts appropriately to improve the condition, seeking validation of actions in advance as appropriate.

· Effective in relationships with business partners, professional peers, and other team members. Coach less experienced IT professionals.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Licensure/Certification: HL7 Certification, EPIC BridgesCertification, Rhapsody CertificationPreferred.
