Reference #: 1842 Mott MacDonald is in search of an entry-level electrical engineer for our Pittsburgh, PA office location.

From the moment you join us, you will be immersed in a team of exceptional engineering consultants, project managers, and specialists ready to support you in your career. Alongside the team, you will be assigned to a variety of projects in the Built Environment, Energy, Transportation, and Water Sectors, working to deliver sustainable outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.

With guidance from a professional engineer, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to: Gathering and maintaining engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc. Developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs. Assisting in the preparation of construction documents, including drawings, written specifications, cost estimates, etc. Preparing calculations, reports, and studies for construction projects. Performing assignments using standard practices, techniques, procedures, and criteria. Attending site inspections, investigations, and monitoring construction progress. Actively participating in project, client, and team meetings and preparing follow-up records documentation. Analyzing reports, specifications, and studies. Gaining exposure to project, commercial, and client management. Undertaking a 'digital by default approach' with deliverables. Actively participating in our 'Early Career Professional' Network.

Candidate Specification:

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience: Bachelor ofScience degreein Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program. 0-5 years of experience in the field of Electrical Engineering and Design. Candidates who have passed the FE exam and obtained Engineers in Training (EIT) status are preferred, but not required. If passing the FE exam has not yet been accomplished, intent to secure EIT status within one year is required. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with team members and other stakeholders. Effective oral and written communication skills. Proactive approach/self-starter. Ability and willingness to work in a team environment. Ability and willingness to travel (some travel may be required for design or construction inspection purposes). Methodical approach to problem-solving to undertake tasks efficiently and independently. A general understanding of relevant software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, Power Tools for Windows, Lighting design software, etc. is preferred. Internship experience within the consulting engineering industry preferred.
