McDonald's General Manager in PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania

Responsibilities:

The General Manager is responsible for managing the overall store and should have a strong passion for the restaurant industry and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. General Managers will be responsible for managing the required administrative work for the store but will also be hands-on and able to work alongside their team. The responsibilities of the General Manager may include but are not limited to:

  • The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and for making sure the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. These standards are high, so this is a big job! The General Manager works with his/her leader to set the restaurant’s goals and creates a plan to achieve the goals.

  • To meet restaurant goals, the General Manager doesn’t work alone. He or she leads a team of Department Managers that has specific responsibilities in the restaurant. This means helping the Department Managers to set their own goals, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve their Departments. By improving the Departments, the restaurant improves!

  • The General Manager may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to make sure that the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future.

  • Take action to ensure the team is meeting McDonald’s standards, monitoring safety, security, and profitability, and communicate effectively with the management team and crew to prepare them for any changes and updates regarding policy, procedures, shifts, departments, and the overall store.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidates should have previous General Manager experience running high volume locations. A background in quick service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail

  • Must be punctual, reliable, and flexible to work all shifts

  • Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner while working with customers, other managers, and crew

  • Be comfortable managing a fast-paced, busy environment with the ability to multi-task, delegate, and prioritize duties

  • Be comfortable learning and using various store systems pertaining to training, hiring, inventory, food costs, promotions, customer service, etc

  • Must have ServSafe certification or the ability to become certified within 90 days of employment

  • You must be 18 years or older to be a manager in a McDonald’s restaurant
