University of Pittsburgh Faculty.Professor.Professor - Full-Time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences seeks a candidate to serve as the inaugural Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences for Education and the Executive Vice Dean of Academic Affairs at the School of Medicine. In this role, the incumbent will be the institution's leader, overseeing the interprofessional educational activities of the six schools of health sciences (Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and School of Rehabilitation Health Sciences) and report directly to the Senior Vice Chancellor for the Health Sciences. The position will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for all interprofessional school and education initiatives and fostering productive relationships with faculty, students, staff, donors, alums, and other constituencies. S/he will be expected to serve as a catalyst, advocate for educational initiatives across the six health sciences schools, enhance collaborations, and foster a vibrant intellectual community among all constituencies within the Health Sciences. As the Executive Vice Dean for Academic Affairs for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, s/he will lead all activities within medical education, overseeing the admissions, educational experiences, and other administrative aspects of medical and graduate student programs. This position will oversee collaborative relationships and degree programs with other health sciences schools and non-health sciences schools at the University, such as the Swanson School of Engineering and the Katz School of Business. The position will also oversee the development of a 21st-century medical curriculum and various dual degree programs (MD, PhD; MD, MS; MD, MPH; MD, DDS; MD, MBA).

The candidate is also expected to be creative and energetic in their research efforts and qualify to be appointed at the academic rank of full professor. The position could have some role in fundraising and will receive assistance from Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement and the Medical Health Sciences Foundation for these fundraising efforts.

Minimum requirements for this position include an MD or PhD, a history of successful research, and a minimum of 10 years of progressive responsibilities in the administration of medical departments/schools.
