Position Summary: As an Engineer III in the Asset Management Group, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure. Collaborating with our team, you'll be at the forefront of developing and maintaining industry standards, contributing to the design and implementation of cutting-edge substation technologies. Your expertise and experience will be instrumental in shaping the future of power systems while adhering to the highest engineering and safety standards.
Location: Hybrid, downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities: Develop, update, organize, and maintain engineering standards including Transmission and Distribution, Underground, and Substation. Ensure design standards are consistent with industry standards and regulations such as National Electric safety code. Develop, update, and maintain the specifications for the devices such as transformers, breakers, cables, capacitors, and reclosers. Develop, update, organize, and maintain internal engineering procedures and practices. Investigate new products and materials and perform technical studies, including calculations, cost-saving analysis, work with engineers and other stakeholders for pilot of new products. Prepare technical reports, including root cause analysis conclusions and recommendations. Provide engineering and technical guidance and support to peers and bargaining unit employees in the office and the field, especially during new equipment installations. Consult with and receive advice from superiors, peers, and vendors to become thoroughly familiar with an assignment and to obtain necessary design and cost information to provide recommendations to appropriate stakeholders. Provide assistance, technical support, and training to field operations personnel during normal and emergency conditions. Maintains familiarity with current codes, regulations, standards, and safety practices impacting equipment, materials, and tools used by the company.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering from an ABET-Accredited institution is required. Three (3+) or more years of relevant experience required, previous utility and standards/specifications experience strongly preferred. Professional Engineer Licensure preferred.

Hybrid Work Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
