DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: LB Foster is looking for a Director, Product Management and can be located at any of our office locations.
Who You Are... The Director, Product Management will serve as L.B. Foster's most senior product management leader. They will provide functional leadership to all L.B. Foster Product Managers through a best-in-class product life cycle management process. They will drive collaboration with sales, operations, and strategic marketing to effectively increase the value of the overall portfolio through new and enhanced product offerings. They will work closely with L.B. Foster marketing communication teams on brand and marketing activities. This role will also serve as a key leader and contributor for strategic projects and M&A activity.
Some examples of the work you might do include... * Develop and maintain a world class product management process that includes market assessments, development of relevant data sources and storage, product life cycle management, new product development, product launch, business case development and evaluation, and development of inorganic growth strategies and targets * Collaborate with business level commercial and operations teams to continuously improve the impact and effectiveness of the sales and operations strategies and investment roadmaps * Develop and own a comprehensive product line strategy including pricing, product roadmap, planned marketing activities, capex roadmap guidelines, targeted acquisition lists, and other relevant activities. * Connect product line strategies into broader portfolio strategies to leverage the synergy of the overall offering and go to market strategies. * Develop and lead monthly and quarterly product level business reviews * Drive P&L improvement either through direct P&L ownership or through indirect leadership and support of product level P&L owners * Lead talent development activities within the product management process * Provide direct and indirect leadership to all L.B. Foster Product Growth Managers * Build and provide daily functional oversight to a high-performance team of product growth managers
What Do You Need? * Bachelor's in business, marketing, or relevant technical field required * 10+ of experience in a relevant field such as sales, product management, marketing or operations leadership required * 5+ years of experience as a product manager in a mature product management function including 3+ years in a leadership role, preferably in product management * Experience in an industry relevant to the L.B. Foster portfolio * Experience working in a portfolio company environment or in multiple industries and product lines a plus * Experience standing up product management functional activities preferred * Proven ability to successfully commercialize new product offerings * Experience working closely with commercial and operational functional teams * Prior Product P&L experience required * Financial acumen required including P&L and variance analysis and the development of business cases and financial models * Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work at a fast pace, unsupervised * Proven project management skills * Ability to handle multiple projects and processes simultaneously * Strong attention to detail
