Accenture Data Governance Council Engagement & Training Senior Manager in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

We are looking for a Data Governance Council Engagement & Training Senior Manager to play a critical role in shaping and executing the Accenture Data Governance Organization (ADGO) operating model. In this capacity, you will establish and guide the Data Governance Council, ensuring that the right talent is engaged for strategic governance decisions. You will also design and deliver a structured training program for the ADGO team, Product Owners, and Data Consumers, fostering responsible data practices and effective governance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance Council Setup & Engagement

  • Lead the creation and ongoing management of the Data Governance Council, ensuring its structure and roles align with organizational objectives.

  • Facilitate stakeholder communication and decision-making processes to address key governance priorities.

Talent Engagement for Governance Roles

  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to identify, recruit, and onboard key governance roles (e.g., Data Stewards, Custodians).

  • Align governance needs with organizational strategy, ensuring the right mix of skills and experience.

Talent Development & Retention

  • Develop strategies to attract and retain top talent in governance positions, identifying skill gaps and implementing targeted development programs.

  • Implement career growth pathways and mentorship opportunities for governance-focused roles.

Training Program for Product Owners & Data Consumers

  • Design and deliver comprehensive training on governance frameworks, data management principles, and responsible data usage.

  • Tailor content to diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and relevance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Operating Model Design & Optimization

  • Define and optimize the ADGO governance operating model, integrating governance processes into daily business operations.

  • Continuously review and refine processes to maximize efficiency and alignment with changing organizational needs.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as the primary contact for governance-related matters, collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Provide clear, transparent updates on governance initiatives, progress, and outcomes.

Change Management

  • Lead change management initiatives to facilitate the adoption of new governance practices and data-responsible culture.

  • Engage with teams across the organization, providing guidance and resources to embed governance into workflows.

Continuous Improvement & Feedback Loop

  • Establish feedback mechanisms to capture stakeholder insights, using these inputs to refine governance processes and training programs.

  • Monitor performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and driving iterative enhancements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of in data governance, operating models, and or change management

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards.

  • Familiarity with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to design and optimize governance operating models, integrating them into existing organizational structures.

  • Experience streamlining processes for governance, compliance, and risk management.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.

  • Strong presentation capabilities and proficiency in delivering training programs to diverse audiences.

  • Skilled in leading complex initiatives, prioritizing tasks, and managing resources effectively.

  • Experience working with HR, senior leadership, and governance teams to align on talent strategies and execution.

  • Understanding of recruitment, onboarding, and skill development strategies, particularly for governance-focused roles.

  • Ability to design and implement programs that foster talent retention and growth.

  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proactive, outcomes-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
