Creative Copywriter

 

The Office of Strategic Communications, Health Sciences, is seeking a Creative Copywriter to join our digital team. We are looking for a self-starter who is excited to learn and grow in the ever-evolving digital space. The ideal candidate will be able to develop creative content for varied projects including digital advertising, digital signage, email, web, and other projects as needed.

This is an exciting time for the Office of Strategic Communications as we build an integrated communications and marketing infrastructure to elevate the positioning of the Health Sciences, which consist of six schools -- Dental Medicine, Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health. Job Summary

Prepares, designs, writes, and edits marketing and promotional materials and print and electronic communications. Develops, reviews, and maintains web content for public University websites. Manages writing project review and approval process and ensures adherence to schedules, guidelines, and brand. Mentors student and temporary workers.

Essential Functions

Develop engaging, best-in-class creative copy and messaging across marketing channels, leveraging channel expertise to elevate audience experience through creative copy.

Participate in collaborative design thinking sessions, with ability to help shape integrated experiences within a cross-functional team.

Conduct interviews with varied, multiple stakeholder group, with ability to synthesize research into organized, actionable writing strategies.

Ability to conduct competitive, industry, and audience research that inform strategic and creative thinking/execution.

Understanding of branding and content pillars, with ability to develop content in alignment with strategic direction and themes.

Supports project and campaign concepting, from development to rollout.

Partners with team members and stakeholders to ensure consistent brand voice across channels.

Ability to understand how UX principles apply to audience experience, with ability to help shape experience through creative storytelling.

Proofread copy for quality and brand compliance, and provide recommendations/guidance on refinements.  

Physical Effort

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Ability to lift up to twenty five pounds occasionally.
