UPMC Client Analyst, Workforce Management in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC Corporate Health Services is seeking a Client Analyst, Workforce Management to join our team! This role is entirely remote, with travel required within the southwest PA region to our UPMC Hospitals. The position entails monthly travel to one hospital and additional travel as needed for the implementation of scheduling software.

The position will work under direct supervision of the Program Director of Workforce Management (WFM) and in partnership with ISD as well as the vendor during all phases of implementation, and post implementation support/management of the WFM program- ShiftSelect. The role ensures that all personnel maintain an appropriate skill level in use of the system by assisting the Program Director with coordinating/implementing training and related functions as needed. It will function as the operational expert for users in order to maximize ShiftSelect's utilization within each department in order to achieve the project goals of UPMC. The role will also serve as the operational contact for information system service requests related to ShiftSelect and assists management to ensure that procedural guidelines are followed as they relate to use of the system. The Client Analyst will be responsible for coordinating with ISD and the vendor for initial system implementation as well as continuing changes and enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides operational configuration management expertise for all functions of the ShiftSelect WFM application in conjunction with the Program Director, ISD, and the vendor account representative

  • Monitors adoption and progression of rollout for all departments on an ongoing basis identifying areas that the Program Director needs to review.

  • Acts as operational liaison with the vendor to resolve system questions and/or make adjustments to configurations and application strategies and communicates follow-up.

  • Participates in producing trending reports for the Program Director that identify opportunities for celebration, as well as , learning opportunities for services lines, departments, specific units, etc.

  • Advises the Program Director regarding the identification and development of needed teaching material and programs for the entire range of end users.

  • Assists in the definition, collection, and distribution of application performance reports for services lines, departments, specific units, etc.

  • Provides/coordinates education for managers, supervisors and end users.

  • Participates in data analysis with the Program Director. Participates in vendor offerings, such as educational programs, webcasts, and conferences.

  • Provides central operational oversight of establishing and supporting positions, profiles, and skill sets.

  • With the Program Director, develops educational programs for on-boarding new managers and new employees for all hospitals and departments.

  • Prepares end users for software upgrades for ShiftSelect coordinating preparation of materials or educational plan for upgrades.

  • Establishes processes to evaluate user satisfaction with system functionality.

  • With the Program Director, ISD, and departmental representatives, establishes downtime procedures and communicates these as part of user training plans.

  • Resolves daily operational and functional application issues and mentors other operational staff.

  • Supplies Program Director with monitoring information on the adoption and compliance of end users with WFM programs

  • Bachelor's degree and three years experience in a health care setting or business environment AND

  • Three years of progressive staff scheduling experience, two years of which include experience with computerized staff scheduling system is required.

  • OR High School diploma (or equivalent) and combination of education and experience would be considered.

  • Seven years experience in a health care setting or business environment.

  • Three years of progressive staff scheduling experience, two years of which include experience with computerized staff scheduling system is required.

  • Must have expertise in analyzing operational settings independently while establishing priorities and following through on solution.

  • Familiarity with data analysis and structured query language (SQL) preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with others is required.
