The Advanced Grid Sr. Project Manager will play a pivotal role in collaborating with the Director of Advanced Grid Solutions, ensuring execution and success of DOE supported and funded projects, AGS pilot projects, non-conventional initiatives, and customer-centric significant projects, for the installation of new technologies. The Sr. Project Manager will lead strategic and complex projects, adapting to varying challenges and complexities while balancing daily tasks with the broader organizational goals and project strategies. This role will ensure strategic resource allocation, schedule management, and budget control in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The Sr. Project Manager will utilize extensive experience and judgement to navigate and resolve ambiguous and complex challenges; make informed decisions based on in-depth knowledge of the energy industry and project management practices; be accountable for critical decision-making, affecting the project outcomes and strategic direction.

Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor the project team in defining project scopes, formulating cost estimates, and steering the projects from conception through to completion.
Provide strategic oversight and collaborate with departments such as Advanced Grid Solutions, Grid Modernization, System Planning, Asset Management, Engineering, PMO, Sourcing, Operations Finance, and others to ensure timely execution and delivery of projects.
Ensure adherence to emerging technologies and innovative project management practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Proactively manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, working closely with contractors and stakeholders to guarantee compliance with project goals.
Initiate and prepare comprehensive business cases for all new ventures, presenting these to the capital committee as required.
Effectively manage project documentation, including formatting, filing, and utilizing tools like SharePoint for administration and maintenance.
Implement and support the roadmap for future grid technologies, ensuring seamless integration and application of new solutions.
Coordinate project portfolio management and analytics, working closely with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure accuracy in material and labor costs.
Develop and present detailed reports and presentations for engineering management, translating complex concepts for diverse audiences.
Foster and maintain strategic partnerships across IT, Regulatory, Customer Service, and Operations, providing technical expertise in policy and regulatory matters.
Storm role as appropriate to the role and skillset.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
Master’s degree in Engineering or relevant discipline strongly preferred.
Ten (10+) or more years of experience in project management.
Preferred: experience in the construction or energy industry, ideally with a focus on DOE-funded projects.
Demonstrated experience in construction, cost estimation, budgeting, and project scheduling required.
