DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Administrative Officer 3 is responsible for directing, managing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive agency-wide safety/security program. The incumbent directs the administration of all phases of safety related programs; develops or directs the development of operational and administrative safety program policies and procedures; and evaluates safety training and training policies and procedures to ensure implementation and overall program effectiveness within existing federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards, and directives with discretion to generate and manage a flexible and adaptive agency-wide program. Work is performed with considerable independence and latitude and is reviewed through conference and reports by the Administrative Officer 4, DHS-OA, Facilities Management (FM), for program effectiveness and conformance with established regulations, policies, goals, and the attainment of objectives. Supervision is exercised over the Safety Specialist and Security Specialist as well as contracted security guards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Scheduled hours may vary depending on the needs of the regional office. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work in a public or private organization, including experience in personnel management, budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
