University of Pittsburgh ADJUNCT FACULTY PROFESSOR - Selected Topics in HR Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The University of Pittsburgh, School of Law, is seeking an instructor in its online Human Resources Law certificate program to teach a portion of the following course during the fall 2024 and summer 2025 semesters.

Course Description: Selected Topics in HR Law -- LAW 2074 (3 credits)

The course includes two (2) distinct two-week seminars that run simultaneously. The first seminar currently reviews religious discrimination and reasonable accommodation in the workplace. The second seminar currently explores the intersection of the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and state workers' compensation laws.

The course will be taught in coordination with Program Director Joseph Hornack. The entire course will run online for a total of eight weeks from October through December 2024 and from May through June 2025. The hired instructor will need to develop the seminars through Pitt Online prior to the fall 2024 actual running dates.

Program Director Hornack is open to agreeing to replace the current seminar topics with 1 or 2 different HR law seminar topics.

Salary: $3,000 for course development and $1,500 for each seminar taught online.

Required Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree; at least three years' legal and/or HR experience with the subject matter.

Recommended Qualifications: Prior teaching experience at the bachelor's degree level or higher; familiarity with Canvas
