Here's What You'll Do:

As a Senior Engineering Assistant for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will participate in and contribute to a diverse range of engineering projects and services in our team-oriented environment. Under the direction and supervision of experienced engineers and project managers, you will gain exposure to solar, oil & gas, public and private land development, waste management, transportation, water resources, and other engineering projects. You will participate in the following aspects of the engineering design process which will include opportunities for task/staff leadership responsibilities:

• Assist, mentor, and direct staff as needed to create alignments, profiles, and site grading designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D;

• Assist, mentor, and direct staff as needed with the prepare earthwork volume calculations;

• Assist, mentor, and direct staff as needed with the preparation of drawing sets throughout the project life-cycle from conceptual planning to final design and construction; and

• Work in conjunction with engineers and project managers to assist, mentor, and direct staff related to:

• Develop site layout plans in accordance with local ordinance requirements;

• Develop post construction stormwater management, stormwater conveyance, and erosion and sedimentation control designs, prepare the supporting calculations and reports;

• Design sanitary sewers and prepare Sewage Facility Planning Modules;

• Conduct utility coordination and design onsite utility connections; and

• Prepare earth disturbance, municipal, and other permitting/approval applications.

Here's What You'll Need:

• Associate’s or technical degree in CAD, Construction, or Engineering or a Bachelor’s of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering or similar fields from an accredited institution;

• Experience: 10 years with B.S. degree, 10-15 years with Associate’s or technical degree;

• Strong knowledge and experience using AutoCAD is required. Proficiency with Civil 3D is strongly preferred. Experience with HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, and other computer modeling software is a plus;

• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and good communication skills;

• Ability to work as a team player, take direction, and interact well with others, and;

• Ability to evaluate design alternatives to solve constructability, code, and site challenges.
