Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. Environmental Scientist in Pittsburgh (Moon Township), Pennsylvania
As a project scientist/consultant for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you’ll conduct office and field activities related to environmental compliance and permitting projects.
Duties may include:
• Preparing environmental data tables, maps, figures, and reports to interpret results and make recommendations for further action.
• Preparing engineering calculations, completing application forms, and compiling permit applications for new and expanding industrial, energy, and other commercial enterprises.
• Contributing to the preparation of environmental regulatory reports and plans.
• Conducting field investigations, data collection, audits, and site reconnaissance tasks
Here's What You'll Need:
B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field;
0-5 years professional experience;
Ability to work independently;
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
Ability to listen effectively and capture important information;
Ability to speak effectively and give occasional presentations;
Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel software;
Ability to travel overnight and work extended hours as needed.
Here's What We'd Like To See:
Experience with technical writing;
Experience with EPCRA reporting, PPC/SPCC Plans, RCRA, CAA, CWA, and TSCA;
Experience with sustainability reporting or ESG programs;
Strong chemistry background;
Client-focused service orientation.
