Manages all aspects of Auditorium operations and programming including cultural and arts productions, special\ events, conferences, educational sessions, tournaments and community functions. Performs administrative work\ to ensure proper maintenance and maximum use of the facility. Fosters positive community relationships and\ attempts to coordinate activities with other venues. Manages Auditorium expenses and maximizes revenues.\ Supervises work of support personnel and maintains a flexible work schedule to attend events as required.\ DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\ Supervises, plans and delegates work activities of Memorial Auditorium staff; engages in recruiting and\ hiring/termination of staff; keeps abreast of morale, scheduling adequate leave time, and provides\ training and feedback on a regular basis; evaluates performance.\ Develops, administers, and monitors the annual budget of the Memorial Auditorium including sales tax\ and rental revenues, expenses and cash carry over. Reviews individual event budgets to determine\ profit/loss.\ Sets annual goals and objectives for Memorial Auditorium; maintains and updates Capital Outlay lists for\ future projects.\ Prepares and /or oversees master calendar of events and assists in developing and executing marketing,\ advertising and sales. Coordinates media placement and distribution.\ Approves negotiated contracts of rental costs taking into account technical, security and/or other\ requirements for planned events; approves rental agreements that have been completed by the Technical\ Director or Administrative Assistant; approves fees and charges and adjusts on an annual basis according\ to industry standards.\ Researches and books programs and attractions designed to meet the community\'s tastes and needs.\ Creates and executes a strategic programming plan.\ Maintains necessary operational and accounting records. Tracks ticket sales, enrollment in programs,\ expenditures and revenues. Develops sponsors for events, special programs and support functions;\ maintains inventory of point of sale items and facility equipment.\ Coordinates individual event requirements and operations ensuring adequate staffing and technical\ resources.

Research potential program prospects; prepare and write formal proposals tailored to\ individuals, performers or promoters; establish professional contacts with promoters,\ performers, user groups, and other artists, as well as the staff of similar facilities; secure staff or\ volunteers for specific programs; prepare reports to funders and City Administration.\ Provide advice on developing, marketing, and producing events and programs to assure\ appropriateness of these events to the various oversight boards and the City.\ Communicate with staff daily for information on projects, stage events, rentals, etc.; evaluate\ staff performance and handle disciplinary issues as appropriate.\ Exhibit excellent oral communication skills; attend Memorial Auditorium events, when possible,\ to interact with patrons and performers.\ Provide reports to the City Administration regarding facility budget, usage, maintenance, etc.\ Represent the MAC at national, state, and local professional organizations to enhance the MAC\'s\ involvement in and commitment to the community as both a resource and provider.\ Work with Memorial Auditorium Board to enhance programming, attendance and revenue.\ Knowledge and practical application of event planning operations, budgeting, sales and\ marketing techniques.\ Experience negotiating with professional performing arts artists, promoters and contract\ management.\ Knowledge of the methods and practices used to plan, organize, schedule, and direct specialized\ arts and cultural programming.
