This position will have global/regional/local responsibilities for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies ensuring lowest Total Cost and overall Best Value for the organization. Reducing working capital and inventory by negotiation planning and execution. Utilize Strategic Sourcing and Value Engineering for sole and single sourced supply base elimination. You will manage Supplier Relationships including supplier performance to support the commodity/category and/or business to ensure supply continuity.

  • Responsible for strategic sourcing categories and/or commodities following the 5 step ITW Strategic Sourcing process. Responsible for structuring and negotiating supplier contracts to manage risk and ensure consistency with overall sourcing strategy. Track record of working with Lean principles and implementing Kanban with suppliers. Establish a rolling 3-year Strategic Sourcing pipeline. (30%)

  • Supervisory responsibilities and carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the ITW’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, addressing complaints, coaching/mentoring for performance and resolving problems.

  • Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management. Work with suppliers to reduce total cost of ownership. Identifies, evaluates, and selects preferred suppliers. Develops and manages strategic relationships with preferred suppliers. Monitor and improve supplier performance (scorecard) in terms of delivery, quality, and cost. Implement root cause and correction action for discrepant material and parts from suppliers. (20%)

  • Partners with product development team and/or Product Managers and Quality in New Product Development. This includes identification and qualification of suppliers for new products and sourcing new parts for BOM and Kits. (10%)

  • Build a Strategic Sourcing playbook. Be a change management champion. Drive continuous improvement to documented processes and procedures. (30%)

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to develop requirements and enterprise strategy to identify suppliers, establish service level agreements and key performance indicator requirements, and monitors performance consistent with established goals and performance measures. (10%)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, Materials, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.

  • 4+ years of Procurement experience

  • 4+ years Team Lead/Supervisory experience

  • Expertise in the sourcing of raw materials (i.e., metals, plastics) and parts/components used in manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Sound judgment and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Education/Experience

  • 5+ years in Strategic Sourcing - Global sourcing / outsourcing a plus

  • Successful sourcing of greater than $20M annual spend.

  • Certification of Professional Supply Chain Management

  • Six Sigma Green Belt

  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment with occasional walk through warehouse and/or manufacturing site

  • Sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl

  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
