Tyndale is hiring a for a new Manager of Distribution and Logistics to oversee all aspects of shipping goods for all of Tyndale's locations. This key role will be the essential to creating, managing, and facilitating Tyndale's relationships with carriers, 3PL's, freight forwarders, and more to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods. This manager will develop and implement distribution and logistics strategies which align Tyndale's overall company objectives and optimizes transportation activities to guarantee timely and cost-effective delivery of orders.

HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This opportunity requires onsite work a minimum of 2 days a week, and 3 days a week remotely. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County) or our location in North Houston, TX for onsite work as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement distribution and logistics strategies aligned with overall company objectives, overseeing the coordination and routing of shipments
  • Coordinate and optimize transportation activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of orders
  • Directs dispatching and routing activities and tracks transportation vehicles
  • Ensures that internal and external customer difficulties or problems are investigated and resolved
  • Evaluate and select reliable transportation partners, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms
  • Monitors contracts with transportation providers and customers to ensure continuation of favorable terms
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices including the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods
  • Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including international regulations related to harmonized codes, import and export tariffs, and customs documentation management
  • Ensures compliance of regulations related to the transportation of hazardous shipments, employee safety, and freight classifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes and ensure seamless operations by developing and implementing policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations
  • Ensures compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, contracts, environmental policies, and government regulations
  • Reviews and analyzes expenditures and other financial information; uses results to develop and implement plans, policies, and budgets
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field, required
  • 5+ years of related experience required
  • 5+ years of management experience required
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, Freight Forwarding and Brokerage systems, required
  • Contract management and negotiation experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong relationship-building and carrier management skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong logistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software;.
