Florida United Methodist Children's Home Child and Family Therapist in Pinetta, Florida

The Child and Family Therapist of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home for the Madison Youth Ranch provides in-depth clinical assessment and treatment of children and families. The Child and Family Therapist conducts individual, group, and family therapy sessions, monitors progress on treatment plan goals, and provides general oversight of the implementation of the treatment plan goals.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides individual, group, and family therapy to the residents and their families Documents clinical information and billing according to Medicaid and agency standards Completes required paperwork upon assignment of new admissions Completes discharge summary at discharge Maintains case records Meets productivity standards while maintaining established standard of care Administers the Childrens Functional Assessment Rating Scale on all children in assigned caseload Attends psychiatric appointments and other meetings/staffings as required, interacts with case managers, Guardian ad Litems, and other professional staff Provides oversight for behavioral health programming associated with the treatment plan for all children in assigned caseload Provides training to direct care staff in the particular components of the treatment plan and behavioral management components. Serve as an on call staff for assigned home Ensures staff participation in team decisions Arranges home visits for the residents Works as the liaison between the Home and the family / caseworker / agency Coordinates community resources as needed by individual residents Facilitates treatment plan review/changeover meetings Is responsive when there is a need for crisis counseling Participates in the performance and quality improvement process Ability to set appropriate limits and boundaries with clients, families, and staff members Ability to handle confidential information appropriately Registers child in school and attends all school meetings including IEP or disciplinary meetings Participates in DCF staffing and recommending decision making permanency outcome for residents Supervises / provides therapeutic phone calls / contact with family Once certified, facilitate weekly equine therapy sessions Set up appointments with psychiatrist Baker Acts residents as needed Completes MARS is nurse is unavailable Ensures all significant incident reports sent out to agency Works with FUMCH admission team to facilitate MYR admissions Serve as MYR representative on subcommittee(s) as assigned *SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Reviews and signs off on documentation of any unlicensed therapist In the absence of the Director of Clinical Services, provides supervision of staff, as directed

*EDUCATION Active Florida LCSW, LMHC or LMFT or willingness to become licensed in Florida Masters Degree in Human Services or related field from a nationally accredited college or university Experience working with children with history of complex trauma, mental health, and behavioral disorders *QUALIFICATIONS Familiarity with utilization review process preferred Ability to organize and generate billable Medicaid documentation in a timely manner Minimum one year experience working in a crisis or child welfare environment (crisis stabilization unit, group care) Be willing and able to work with difficult youth and their families Be able to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with all clients, parents, staff , stakeholders, and providers Be computer literate and able to document case information electronically Have workable understanding of appropriate theory and methodology Ability to develop and implement evidenced based treatment goals and interventions Must be able to work within the philosophy of services to children and families consistent with the ministry and goals of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home(trauma focused model of care) Ability to properly assess and diagnose based upon DSM IV a d V Sensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
