Eaton Corporation Associate Buyer in Pinckneyville, Illinois

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Associate Buyer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $55125.0 - $80850.0 a year.

What you’ll do:

• Schedule internal and supplier demand based on the actual demand, safety stock / re-order point logic, and / or forecast through system generated action messages.

• Conduct supplier pricing analysis working to ensure competitive pricing is being achieved from sourcing.

• Monitor and assess the plant’s demand load data; drive resolution on uneven capacity utilization that keeps plant focused on the customer, while efficiently utilizing manufacturing resources.

• Manage purchase requisitions, investigate and develops sources of supplies, prepare bid specifications, issues bid requests and review quotations

• Participate in monthly SIOP review and develop appropriate planning parameters for parts to manage performance balancing customer service levels and inventory

• Assist plant execution towards achieving delivery, inventory, & cost metrics.

• Interface with customers and sales team to update and determine order completion

• Examine departmental purchase requisitions for completeness & accuracy of provided information necessary for the buying procedure.

• Expedite and defer goods and services as required to meet customer expectations and sales targets

• Manage inventory, develop target quantities, and minimize total inventory expense while meeting required component lead time goals.

• Identify and maintains direct contact with suppliers, build and maintain solid relationships with strategic supply chain partners.

• Perform market analysis for certain commodities to gather empirical data to justify purchases.

• Lead forecast consumption analysis by actual sales orders & makes recommendations based on cumulative lead time analysis.

• Meet daily with the plant supervisors and manufacturing team to assess production schedules, (adjust as necessary based on production results) optimize run quantities, and minimize changeovers to help achieve 100% on time delivery.

• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and development of improvement plans.

• Coordinate engineering changes and work closely with Quality supervisor, Materials supervisor and / or Materials Manager to correct quality problems with vendors.

• Execute Return to Vendors in a timely manner and process invoices to clear MRBR issues.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university

  • Minimum 1 year of Buying/Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Pinckneyville, IL will be considered. Active-duty military members are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business administration

  • Knowledge of MRP (Materials Requirements Planning)

  • APICS CPIM Certification

  • SAP experience

Skills:

• Scheduling techniques and familiarity with product processing

• Strong interpersonal and vendor relation

• Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
