The Business Development Manager shares overall responsibility for business development strategy, planning and execution focused on building and managing a pipeline from opportunity identification through award, supporting the company's growth objectives. Job Duties/Responsibilities Identify and pursue new business opportunities in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. Leverage existing contacts and establish new relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders and potential partners within targeted agencies. Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, competitor analysis and potential areas for business expansion. Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals that align with client needs and requirements. Serve as proposal manager, developing proposals and submitting strong, compliant proposals. Stay abreast of industry development, regulatory changes and emerging opportunities that may impact growth prospects. Build relationships with strategic teaming partners to facilitate continued growth. Maintain pipeline of prospective opportunities. Requirements Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University. 10 years of progressive experience developing and managing a pipeline of business from opportunity identification to capture in the federal government contracting environment. Experience managing and developing proposals in response to government requests for proposal (RFPs) Experienced in government contracting arena with a mature understanding of joint ventures, contracting vehicles, subcontractor/partner relationships, and the federal procurement process. At least four years of recent experience as a business development leader understanding regulations and requirements. Experience successfully closing high-value contracts and meeting or exceeding sales targets. Skills/Abilities Strong network and existing contacts within DOE are essential for success in this position. Collaborative leader and team player with the ability to pull together cross-functional support for business development initiatives. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
