But research shows that over 63% of people prefer messaging with businesses, and we’re witnessing this growth firsthand on Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. We’re investing as a company to lead this transformation -- and make messaging with a business as easy and intimate as messaging a friend.We seek an experienced product marketer passionate about Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) and business communications, and knowledgeable about 0>1 product development, to join our Business Messaging Tools product team. This team is responsible for building Inbox and other communication tools in Facebook Business Suite. Today SMBs can use these tools to manage their communications across Messenger and Instagram, and we aim to evolve into a true one-stop shop for all business communications. The Product Marketing function serves as the customer advocate in product development (“inbound” work) and also defines go-to-market strategy (“outbound” work). This role will be responsible for product strategy, market and competitive analysis, customer insights, product testing, and go-to-market strategy for new communications solutions that we are building into Inbox and Facebook Business Suite. The ideal candidate will bring deep insight into the business communications and/or Customer Relationship Management landscape, and be passionate about transforming the way SMBs communicate with customers. She or he will have experience building tech products for SMBs, and be laser focused on building best-in-class, easy-to-use experiences built around the needs of the customer. We’re looking for a big-picture thinker and strong problem solver who can partner cross-functionally and cross-team to drive results. Lead product strategy, opportunity assessment, market research, competitive benchmarking, customer segmentation, etc. to identify significant long-term opportunities
Represents the market (including qualitative and quantitative feedback from businesses) internally with Product Management and Engineering, and influence product roadmap/direction
Collaborate closely with partner teams to build great product experiences that span org lines and address customer needs holistically
Plan and lead alpha/beta testing to assess Product Market Fit and feed insights back into product development
Quarterback comprehensive go-to-market strategy and plan, including positioning, launch strategy, PR
Partner effectively with outbound marketing teams to create world-class product marketing communications and drive product adoption & engagement at scale (via marketing campaigns, blog posts, press, sales activation, events, etc.)
BA/BS degree, or equivalent work experience
6+ years of work experience in Product Marketing/Product Management/product development, marketing/advertising/brand management, strategy consulting, product/business strategy, or similar roles
Experience problem solving, communicating and working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and teams across varying levels of seniority
Experience thinking analytically and strategically about issues and influencing stakeholders through analysis and customer insights
Experience leading cross-functional teams to drive results
8+ years of work experience in Product Marketing/Product Management/product development (partnering closely with product management and engineering to represent market requirements, and with sales to support product launches)
Experience in B2B messaging/communications, Customer Relationship Management, and/or digital marketing/advertising
Experience with (zero-to-one) tech product development
Familiarity with building products for SMBs
Proven to be scrappy and juggle competing priorities, and a bias for action
