Opportunity to work within multidisciplinary team (law enforcement, Child Protection Services, medical, mental health, prosecution, victim advocacy).
Must be able to work with information and situations related to child abuse.
Job Summary
This position provides clinical advocacy services to Central South Dakota Child Assessment Center (CSDCAC) patients.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Working with all partners in serving children of alleged abuse and their families, including diverse and underserved populations.
Implement aftercare services and referrals for CSDCAC clients.
Utilize NCAtrak system and Outcome Measurement System for follow-up care and coordination.
Support the Multidisciplinary Teams as needed.
Provide community outreach to community partners and to agencies within the 24-county region working with children and teenagers.
Attend specific training on child abuse and neglect, victim advocacy and cultural competency in care.
Attend monthly staff meetings, case consultations and other meetings as appropriate.
Assist with agency fundraising efforts.
Provide presentations in the community on child abuse and neglect; representative of Avera St. Mary’s Hospital and its mission.
Other duties as deemed appropriate by the Executive Director and/or the Child Assessment Center Coordinator.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, criminal justice or related field is required.
Must have valid driver’s license.
Experience in working with children and families desired.
Experience with the court system helpful.
Work Schedule
Day shift; 48 hours every 2 weeks
Hours are typically between 9:00 am -4:00 pm
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$17.50 - $21.25
