Cardinal Health Warehouse Supervisor (Afternoon Shift) in Piedmont, South Carolina

Anticipated salary range: $65,500 - $93,500

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.

Shift for this position will be 1:00pm – 10:00pm (or until the work is complete) Monday-Friday. The availability to work overtime will be necessary based on business needs.

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs and manages 15+ warehouse associates to achieve timely distribution and receipt of product and motivates employees to ensure that predetermined productivity and quality standards are achieved.

  • Monitors productivity, adheres to budgetary guidelines, and works to meet Distribution Center objectives and operational goals while maintaining standards pertaining to quality

  • Coordinates the daily scheduling of the work force to ensure proper staffing to select, replenish, restock, locate and ship merchandise in a productive and cost-efficient manner.

  • Holds staff accountable for conducting work in a safe manner, ensuring that warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform distribution functions and provide support for a culture that strives toward continuous improvement in Environmental, Health and Safety

  • Coordinates the maintenance of equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance and all necessary repairs.

  • Recommends and implements programs, policies, and strategies to increase production and efficient space utilization.

  • Ensures quality service is provided to the customers and ensures prompt follow-through on customer correspondence, complaints and inquiries related to shipment of merchandise and stock-on-hand; Develops and implements modifications and innovations to improve the quality of service to our customers.

  • Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and division goals.

  • Actively participates in employee development, which includes training, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisals.

  • Maintains general responsibility for disciplinary process around counseling, oral and written warnings; ensures a productive work climate in the warehouse operation

  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions and services; manages monetary assets and other resources to optimize cost effectiveness

  • Prepares ad hoc reports as necessary

  • Ensures that accurate attendance/PTO records and scheduling are maintained

  • Responsible for Cardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, FDA, State and local authorities; primary facility contact for QRA compliance and initiatives

  • Accurately performs multiple operational tasks assigned to them and the team

  • Demonstrates ability to organize a team to execute upon daily goals

  • Educates, teaches and holds team accountable for communicated standards

  • Works in any area identified within the facility

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; Bachelor’s degree a plus

  • 3-5 years of relatable operations/distribution/warehouse experience with a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred

  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills, which includes effective oral and written communication skills

  • Preferably holds a material handling equipment certification

  • Ability to organize the activities of a team of multiple individuals with diverse activities

  • Willingness to be on call and work night shift hours, overtime with little to no advanced notice and able to work weekends and holidays as needed

  • Prior experience with continuous improvement projects and initiatives

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience leading a team

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel ( Pivot Tables and spreadsheets )

  • Experience working within ERP’s (SAP or Manhattan) preferred
