Element Materials Technology Metallurgist in Piedmont, South Carolina
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgist whose primary responsibility is to support the laboratory with routine microstructural examinations of aerospace components.
Responsibilities
Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements
Perform metallographic examinations on various materials to be determine grain size, cleanliness, volume percentage of phasesand general microstructure evaluation. Evaluations will be of nickel and titanium aerospace parts
Coordinate with the clients & third-party witness as to the testing details
Manage technicians to carry out work as per the planning schedule
Be willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager to assist in the execution Element Technology annual targets and budget
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or related discipline
Minimum 4-years experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing or equivalent
Knowledge and experience of safe operation of metallurgical testing equipment and operating in lab and / or industrial environment
Excellent organizational and team leading skills
Exceptional communication skills
