Robert Half Access Control Technician in Piedmont, South Carolina

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a skilled Access Control Technician. This role is based in Piedmont, South Carolina, in the IT Services industry. As an Access Control Technician, you will be tasked with installing physical security hardware, network cabling, troubleshooting hardware, and managing access control systems in a local school district setting.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain and troubleshoot access control systems and physical security hardware.

• Implement door hardware for the access control system according to specifications.

• Perform network cabling tasks to enable seamless communication.

• Resolve hardware issues, ensuring minimal disruption to the school district's operations.

• Interpret and execute plans from blueprints for hardware installation.

• Ensure adherence to safety and security guidelines in all tasks performed.

• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the effective functioning of the access control system.

• Provide technical support and guidance on access control related issues.

• Regularly inspect and perform maintenance on access control devices to ensure optimal functioning.

• Assist in the assessment and upgrade of access control systems and hardware as required. Requirements • Proficiency in Access Control systems and their operation

• Familiarity with BluePrint software for design and planning

• Experience in Cable Installation, including network and security systems

• Understanding of Physical Security principles and their application to access control

• Skills in Hardware Installation, particularly in the context of security systems

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with access control systems

• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members

• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of systems

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Commitment to continuous learning and upskilling in the field of IT Services

• Demonstrated ability to adhere to safety regulations and procedures
