Our client is a leading chemical and packaging company looking for a Permanent Millwright Mechanic with excellent maintenance skills in Pickering, ON.

Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Repair, overhaul, and replace defective parts of production machinery, including conveyors, fillers, tube fillers, packaging equipment, mixers, and DC controls.

• Maintain and support plant systems and infrastructure.

• Set up machines, provide technical guidance to operators, and document maintenance records and procedures.

• Ensure all machines and equipment are in safe working condition.

• Adhere to health and safety regulations, especially during lockout/tagout procedures.

• Conduct ongoing preventative maintenance and pursue continuous improvement.

• Establish relationships with vendors, requisition parts and materials, and coordinate vendor support as needed.

• Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, install machinery and equipment, and perform routine maintenance tasks.

• Equipment: mixing and blending tanks, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, PLCs, conveyors, and packaging machinery

• Union: Teamsters Local 1979

About you:

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Must have the skills and experience necessary to work safely, both independently and collaboratively

• Strong troubleshooting abilities with an innovative approach to solving mechanical issues

• Very strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge

• Ability to design, fabricate, and weld machine components

• Eager to learn and willing to train others

• Self-motivated with basic computer skills, including proficiency with email and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent command of spoken and written English

• Trade certification is an asset

• Team player who works well with colleagues
