Job Title: 2nd Shift Utility Technician

Job Description

Assist in fabricating and assembling structural steel and piping components. Measure and cut steel with a band saw, plasma cutter, or oxy-acetylene torch according to engineering cut sheets. Install supports, brackets, and trolley beams. Operate plate shears, industrial saws, and other power equipment and tools as required. Work as an apprentice to Welders, Electricians, and Plumbers, helping with tasks such as pulling wires, hanging walls, assembling frames, and spot welding. Assist in installing various pieces of equipment in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble structural steel and piping components.

• Measure and cut steel using band saws, plasma cutters, or oxy-acetylene torches.

• Install supports, brackets, and trolley beams.

• Operate plate shears, industrial saws, and other power equipment and tools.

• Assist Welders, Electricians, and Plumbers in their tasks.

• Help with pulling wires, hanging walls, assembling frames, and spot welding.

• Install equipment as per engineering drawings and specifications.

• Participate in training across welding, plumbing, and electrical departments.

Essential Skills

• Experience with tack welding.

• Familiarity with MIG welding processes.

• Apprentice Electrician skills including running conduit and pulling wire.

• Basic assembly skills and familiarity with hand tools and shop equipment.

• Entry-level plumbing skills including brazing and soldering.

• Experience with fabrication and using cutting torches and band saws.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• HVAC or construction experience is strongly preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
