Responsibilities
The Surgical Technologist provides safe and efficient care to the surgical patient under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in collaboration with the surgeon. The Surgical Technologist functions primarily in the scrub role and is responsible for selecting, preparing, and maintaining instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. The Surgical Technologist possesses knowledge in the application of sterile and aseptic technique and is able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting. The Surgical Technologist utilizes knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation and technology as member of the surgical team.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited or military surgical technology program.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
Additional Qualifications
- One year of surgical tech experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure
Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required within one year of hire date and maintained thereafter.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date and maintained thereafter.

Schedule Details
Monday - Friday, either 4 x 10 hour shifts or 3 x 12 hour shifts per week; day off TBD upon hire. Hours: 0645-1715 or 0645-1915.
Weekend Schedule
Weekends to include call shifts only, which also includes holiday call. Call requirement may include specialty team depending on skillset. All call requires a 30-minute response time. Call rooms are available to reserve through security if the candidate lives outside the 30-minute window.
