The Honeywell Aerospace propulsion project engineering team has an immediate opening for a Senior Advanced Project Engineer to serve as the High-Pressure and Low-Pressure Turbine Module Lead for the HTF7000 Turbofan Engine product family. In this role, you will partner with world class engineers to maintain the design integrity of this best-in-class engine and develop product improvements that will keep the engine competitive long into the future. You will interact with customers, partners, suppliers, certification authorities and various levels of Honeywell management. You will lead the definition and execution of complex multidisciplinary projects, defining technical requirements, managing budgets and schedules, and presenting technical accomplishments for a variety of production, in-service and new product development programs. You will support the integrated supply chain in developing a more robust supply base, helping them to improve producibility while ensuring that existing and new suppliers maintain part quality.
Leading root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
Executing changes to designs and approved source lists for engine components
Creating and publishing overhaul and repair instructions for engine components
Schedule and Milestone development/management
Cost and budget management
Technical requirements development
Estimation development and analysis
Project performance and technical execution
Risk/Opportunity development and management
Vendor interface and management of technical requirements
Presenting project plans and status to customers, operators and internal stakeholders
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
7+ plus years’ experience in the aerospace industry developing complex mechanical systems
Direct experience with the design, development and certification of turbomachinery
Knowledge of the FAA Part 33 or equivalent certification requirements.
Direct experience with root cause-corrective action investigations, cost reduction programs or new product development
Experience working with collaboratively with suppliers to turn designs into hardware and solve problems in production.
Demonstrated ability to plan technical programs, including budget and schedule estimation, resource planning and risk and requirements management.
Demonstrated ability to recognize cost and schedule risks before they can cause significant program impact, and the ability to develop and execute sound risk mitigation plans.
The ability to provide technical contributions essential to the successful completion of projects.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Ability to prioritize time and resources effectively.
Tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to react quickly to changing scope.
