Microsoft Corporation Regional Portfolio Manager - AI Datacenter Integration in Phoenix, Arizona

The Regional Portfolio Manager (RPM) - AI Datacenter Integration will track, monitor, support and provide reporting on the Datacenter Integration (DCI) AI Regional Portfolio. The scope of this role includes support of both lease and build projects. The role requires effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. It requires the ability to self-direct, a background in Data Center engineering, controls, operational requirements and an emphasis on project/construction management, Data Center lease market experience, client representation and project level services.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to (50)%.

Responsibilities

The key competencies and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Advising at a strategic level on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the team’s overall objectives

  • Advising and leading on the establishment of the overall success criteria for the portfolio, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters

  • Advising and planning for the ongoing management of quality, safety, health and environment issues

  • Establishing effective project and programme governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout the portfolio.

  • Identifying ways in which programme management products and services can be improved

  • Design and delivery of change and transformation projects that will support delivery teams to deliver improved impact.

  • Managing the change control process

  • Developing and managing efficient data collection and benchmarking

  • Advising and supporting the identification and management of risk across the portfolio.

  • Project and program planning, including ensuring the production of detailed project and programme plans.

  • Advising upon the procurement of resources

  • Facilitating coordination between the overall cross-functional project and programme team

  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including the use of KPI’s and OKRs to improve project and programme performance

  • Monitoring and advising upon project and programme finances

  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and key partners, through regular meetings and written communications

  • Assists with creating and reporting on project progress regarding scope, schedule, standards, and budget.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Center Construction porject management

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, construction management or similar field experience.

  • 5 + years’ experience in infrastructure and/or construction related project management.

  • Client and/or Contractor side onsite Datacentre construction or project management experience.

  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Experience managing large scale enterprise projects with both localized and virtual teams.

  • Cross-group collaborator and influencer across teams and organizations with proven success in participating in cross-functional teams to deliver on key projects. Be able to work within a dynamic team of full-time employees and consultants.

Construction Project Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
