Centene Corporation Principal Process Architect - Claims (Remote) in Phoenix, Arizona

Position Purpose: This role is accountable to drive simplification and consistency across claims processes, take end to end process ownership for enterprise claims, and share key performance metrics with claims executive leaders. The Principal Process Architect will drive simplification and standardization across divisions of Centene that may have originally been independent companies with different underlying technology. Navigate process simplification to drive year over year improvements in KPI outcomes across all health plans and platforms. The role serves as a thought leader and practice leader for other claims architects who collectively drive data-based decisions regarding future state process design and needs as they serve as action leaders in the implementation of envisioned improvements. This role does not directly supervise others but will require ability to operate with executive presence and emotional intelligence sufficient to collaborate at all levels of the organization and operate in peer relationships with Directors, Senior Vice Presidents, and Senior Leaders as a participant in process governance when required to drive process maturity.

The Principal Process Consultant owns the outcomes and maturation of an end-to-end customer facing process intended to {Process Purpose}, starting with {Event that marks entry into the end-to-end process life cycle} and concluding with {Event that marks exit from the end-to-end process life cycle or beginning of a next iteration} which may be inclusive of multiple component process life cycles owned by process consultants or senior process consultants.

Accountable with executive level partners to deliver operational metric improvements through structural improvement programs; aligns Enterprise process patterns with partners in Business Architecture and Enterprise Architecture

In partnership with executive leaders, the individual is accountable for driving a focus on key metrics that move customer experience, increase efficiency, and increase effectiveness in a measurable way on core processes across the organization and cross functional team of process architects, core process support structure, process drivers, and process owner.

Fosters reputation as a trusted advisor and thought leader at all levels of the organization. Uses influence to create demand for contextually relevant information in enterprise decision making; Coaches others or deliver analysis, recommendations, and presentation of findings to drive executive decisions.

Master Facilitator, who develops others and leads highly complex or sensitive architecture or improvement events.

Understands and applies industry standard criteria for maturing capabilities; regularly participates in highly confidential future state planning. Informs leaders how future state processes and capabilities will impact customer experience, efficiency, effectiveness, and financial results. (Able to answer the “Why” questions for any new process or capability recommendation).

Participates in steering committees for operating model development or drive end to end operating model improvements.

Provides end to end process and customer experience insight across a broad national process area in support of process simplification, consolidation, and optimization.

Recognizes if industry benchmarks or internal data, trends or gaps impacting customer touch points require broad and complex policy, business rule, process, or technology changes to simplify the national system.

Education/Experience: A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in driving process transformation and simplification within a large corporate environment. Experience facilitating of distributed team process workshops. Operating model design and merger integration experience within a managed care environment highly preferred. Demonstrated understanding of business process as it relates to automated, customer self-service, and manual processing in the end-to-end environment described in position responsibilities across Centene’s ecosystems or at other managed care industry payers strongly preferred. This job requires thought leadership in process and policy redesign, where the work is frequently ambiguous and not envisioned in formal procedures or guidelines. This is a policy making role within the end-to-end process and is accountable to simplify and mature. A Master's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., business Administration, statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics) science). Bachelor’s in Business, Health Care Management, Economics, or related field.

License/Certification: ASQ CMBB, ASQ CSSBB, Shingo Gold, or Certified Lean Master Black Belt, Certification in one or more enterprise architecture practices preferred.
