Job Title: Lead/Sr. Systems Engineer, Okta Administrator

Location: San Francisco, CA or Remote

The Salesforce Digital Platform team is responsible for innovating the Salesforce digital experience globally, demonstrating outstanding technology and systems—including Salesforce’s platform. Salesforce continues to grow rapidly, and our digital experience ensures that visitors, prospects, customers, and trailblazers can connect with Salesforce content and capability seamlessly and engagingly.

Role Description:

We are looking for an Okta administrator/Lead/Sr. Systems Engineer to support implementation, support and ongoing operations of identity solution management on Okta. This would also include enablement and on-boarding of applications within Salesforce to the Trailblazer ID authentication service and adoption of new sign-up and login experiences for visitors to salesforce web properties and the support of websites and applications for authentication and profile services. This role will work closely with product management, engineering, program management and technical operations teams to improve adoption practices and support improvements to user experiences and platform services.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement authentication flows and Integrate applications using SAML, and OIDC on to Okta

  • Configure factor enrollments, sign on and application policies

  • Completing day-to-day operational tasks to support users of the Okta service

  • Operate as a technical authority to support teams as part of onboarding to Trailblazer ID authentication service

  • Contribute to the strategy and approach to accelerate and optimize on-boarding of engineering development teams and web properties to Trailblazer ID.

  • Facilitate the implementation of new features on the identity platform

  • Support product management collection and review requirements from clients of the service.

  • Embrace DevOps functions for testing and environment management across teams

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS/MS degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or Computer Sciences

  • Okta certified (admin and/or consultant)

  • Experience implementing identity solutions, preferably Okta, and System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)

  • 10+ years hands on experience with engineering operations or enterprise operations

  • Demonstrated ability to lead overall business initiative or several components of large, sophisticated projects with direct experience in Agile and Scrum

  • Engineering background or experience with systems implementation and adoption.

  • Confirmed experience around standard methodologies regarding Application implementations, including design patterns, release management, deployment strategies, and testing

  • Service-oriented attitude and customer focus with keen eye towards various trends in application support and platform administration and look for process improvements and automations to offset manual work.

  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies or concepts quickly

  • Experience deploying and maintaining SSO solutions like Okta

  • Proficient with the AuthN/AuthZ and core identity standards like SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0 and OIDC

  • Good project management skills with ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks across various user groups

  • Must be a self-starter and Salesforce enthusiast who thrives on working in fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with web technologies including front-end component frameworks, content management and technical site operations.

  • Apex Development experience

  • Experience with TechOps and DevOps strategies and practices

  • Experience with Identity management products or specifically Salesforce Identity
