Facebook Data Scientist, Product Analytics - Family Communications Platform (FCP) in Phoenix, Arizona

Summary:

The Family Communications Platform team provides infrastructure, tooling, governance, and optimization services for teams across the company wanting to communicate to the users both onsite through quick promotions, and off-site through notifications.We do not generate our own communications to drive our own specific growth, engagement outcomes, but rather we optimize and deliver different channels to do things like resolve tragedy of the commons issues that arise or determine how to allocate budget across teams that want to drive their own outcomes to maximize overall impact given limited real estate.We are looking for a Data Scientist with a good understanding of auction and delivery systems. The ideal candidate is capable of seeing the big picture, identifying pivotal questions, working closely with leadership, and leading Data Scientists around the company to drive product impact.

Required Skills:

  1. Ecosystems, platforms experience, and bring in-depth understanding to how different pieces come together, identifying the right health metrics to evaluate ecosystem health, and constantly challenging our current understanding

  2. Collaborate with Engineering team to identify improvement opportunities for communication optimizations via exploratory analysis and experiment design

  3. Collaborate with Data Scientists and product teams across the company to the company to drive foundational understanding of the product experience

  4. Leverage data and work closely with leadership to challenge and evolve the long-term and short-term strategy

  5. Metrics design and goal-setting experience working in a central cross-organizational team

  6. Work with partner teams to set metrics that can guide overall strategy of both teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors/Masters Degree with 4+ years (or PhD with 2+ years) of experience working within an analytical role

  2. Interest in understanding the dynamics of user behavior, responses to communication and building great products

  3. Experience working independently and as a member of a cross-functional team

  4. Experience in using SQL to query and manipulate large data sets for analysis

  5. Python or R experience

  6. Experience answering big picture questions by framing the business question into an analytical plan and communicate to stakeholders

  7. Experience in strategical thinking and driving direction of the team

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of experience working in an analytics organization

  2. Experience working with executives or senior leadership

  3. Experience leading and driving change that impacts large organizations
