Tommy Zapp with Robert Half is partnering with a well respected company within the construction industry on an Accounting Manager opening. This role requires not just a strong financial acumen but also a flair for leading a mostly remote team. If you possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, are familiar with the percent of completion revenue model, have supervised general ledger and AP teams, and are at ease working in a multi-currency environment, then we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Job Responsibilities:

As our Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the company.

• You will be at the helm managing a team of passionate accountants. You will also oversee our Accounts Payable team consisting of dedicated members.

• In your role, you will be responsible for reviewing all general ledger transactions ensuring they are properly recorded. You will also be reviewing the month-end accounts prepared by staff for accuracy and completeness.

• You will ensure timeliness and accuracy in recording intercompany transactions and reconciling intercompany accounts.

• The role requires you to review system generated currency revaluation reports and assist the Financial Reporting & Analysis Manager with month-end translation of foreign subsidiary financial statements.

• You will have the responsibility of managing annual financial statement and overhead audits.

• When it comes to new accounting standards (GAAP), your expertise will be counted upon. You'll carry out research, implementation, and write accounting research memos.

• You will also handle special projects, as well as perform other duties as assigned.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• You should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

• You should have 10+ Years of overall accounting experience and prefer candidates with experience in a large public accounting firm.

• Your work experience should include 5+ Years in an Architecture/Engineering or Construction firm.

• The role requires supervising experience, so you should have led a team for atleast 3+ Years.

• You should be well versed with US GAAP and recent pronouncements.

• The job requires implementing new accounting standards, hence previous experience will be a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A CPA or CMA will be advantageous.

• An understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

• Experience with a large-scale ERP system will be preferred.
