Jacobs Senior Civil Engineer - Rail/Transit Facilities and Stations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Rail and Transit Facilities Team in Philadelphia is looking for a Sr. Civil Engineer who is focused on Site Design and Engineering with a multi-discipline approach working on large technically complex projects, with a special emphasis on Rail and Transit Facilities and Stations. You’ll provide technical guidance and mentoring to Junior civil engineering staff, general oversite with some production support for building projects using Civil 3D and AutoCAD. This may include preparation of civil design models; engineered drawings of plans (site layout, underground utility, site grading, E&S plans, and stormwater and sanitary calculations), elevations, cross sections and details of typical site features related to Civil engineering. Client relationships and experience working with Amtrak, SEPTA, PennDOT BPT or other regional transit and transportation agencies is desired.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering

• 15+ years of professional experience in engineering

• Preferred experience in rail and transit projects for facilities and stations.

• PC Proficiency: Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation and OpenRoads, and /or other design and office software

• Proficient in Stormwater design, calculations, modeling, and Green infrastructure

• Sizing of underground piping systems, design track alignments and profiles, prepare details and specifications, coordination of railroad operations

• Knowledge of underground utility systems, in particular gravity systems (stormwater and sanitary)

• Knowledge of site engineering including; site layout, parking, roadways, hardscape/softscape, site grading and utilities and modeling those systems

• A demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, communicate effectively to all key personnel, manage time efficiently, and produce correct designs within budgeted time

• Interacting with client management teams, engineers, and marketing teams

• Supporting interdisciplinary projects, document preparation and production

• Zoning code reviews and analysis

• Knowledge of Land Development Process, State, Federal and Local permitting processes and time lines

• Previous experience and comfortable with public presentations

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Professional engineers (PE) license or ability to obtain your PE
