Confidential Employer Security Non-Teaching Assistant (SNTA) in PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania

OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Performs routine and non-routine security functions in an assigned area or areas by following prescribed schedules set by Operations Department.

Security Nonteaching Assistants (SNTA) are essential school personnel who assist faculty and administration providing a safe environment for students.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school. Experience with security is desirable. Pursuant to PA law all candidates must submit to a Child Abuse, State Police and FBI criminal background checks as a requirement of employment.

 

ABILITY TO: Work is typically performed walking, sitting or standing. This work includes, but not limited to stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling, and lifting. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to approximately 25 pounds frequently, and up to approximately 75 pounds occasionally. Work is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme temperatures, noise and hazards.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:

  • Monitors on a daily basis all campus arrivals and dismissals, cafeterias, hallways, bathrooms, recess/play areas, traffic control, parking lots and the security desk including camera monitors.
  • Adheres to the proper cleaning methods, storage and proper care of equipment and supplies;
  • Responds to a variety of requests from the administration, faculty, and staff.
  • Responds promptly to accidents or potential safety hazards such as spills, restroom problems, and child illnesses;
  • Reports all accidents and/or potential hazards to the building administration(s) and/or Facilities Manager immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible;
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks to maintain the building site, including, minor and routine painting, plumbing, and other related maintenance activities;
  • Monitors on a daily basis all campus cafeterias, hallways, bathrooms, recess/play areas, traffic control, parking lots and the security desk including camera monitors.
  • Maintains building perimeter by including shoveling/removing snow/ice;
  • Observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures at all times;
  • Uses and wears safety and/or protective equipment, as appropriate;
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, employees, visitors, equipment, materials, and facilities;
  • Complies with and supports school regulations and policies;
  • Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities;
  • Performs other duties as requested by immediate in accordance with school policies and practices
