Summary:

We are looking for a Sales Development Manager focusing on Pavement Coatings Maintenance Business whose first instinct is to listen, not sell; the SDM will work first to understand the customer’s problems and needs before making recommendations & will understand prospect dis qualification is just as important as qualification.

Essential Duties:

  • Looks to build trust through accountability, collaborative/consultative problem solving, and convincing through data and facts.

  • Focuses on relationship building with municipal stakeholders within the DOT/DPW–both new and pre-existing, through experience and skill: opens doors with less effort and faster, helps navigate government subtleties, and acts as an accountable partner.

  • Primary focus is to build top of the funnel opportunities and accelerate progress of opportunities through the funnel by working closely with other Sales team members to convert opportunities to revenue.

  • In parallel and in support of direct municipal selling efforts, will develop partnerships with pavement assessors and engineers to espouse a “missionary sales” approach.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key municipal stakeholders (Board members, Department of Transportation, procurement)

  • Understand and provide competitor information and insights related to strategy and product

  • Compile reporting to highlight hits, misses, learning, competitive landscape and strategic next steps; proactively identifying opportunities to exceed expectations and position our clients as leaders in their space

  • Influence the pavement maintenance industry and the pavement assessment and planning sector, constantly networking to become a trusted advisor to existing and potential customers

Under This Roof, We Require

  • Bachelor degree required, preferably in civil engineering

  • 7 or more years of related work experience required

  • Experience with municipal purchasing process and relationship management required

  • Experience selling to governmental organizations, preferably municipalities required

  • Pavement assessor or road engineer background preferred

  • Experience selling in transportation, specifically paving or road construction preferred

  • Experience with CRM preferred

  • 30-50% travel.

Annual Salary Range: 135,000-172,500
