Job Description Summary

Route Setters are responsible for regularly changing out the holds on Penn’s Climbing Wall.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Setting Route planning and Setting bouldering routes and top rope routes

  • Hold Maintenance Stripping routes, soaking and cleaning holds and inspecting holds for cracks/damage

  • Recording route information and updating the route registry

  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required

  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a strong climbing background with an understanding of climbing movement and grading. Route Setters should feel comfortable setting bouldering routes up to V8 and top-rope routes up to 5.12. Previous route setting experience is preferred, but not required.
