University of Pennsylvania Research Assistant Professor of Genetics in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Department of Genetics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of genetics, and may include expertise in one or more of the following: computational biology, statistical genetics, population genetics, biomedical informatics, complex genetics, clinical genetics, pharmacogenetics/genomics, functional genomics, structural variation analysis, cancer genetics, human phenomics, and genomic medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or Ph.D or equivalent degree.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing collaborative and independent research programs related to human genetics, co-supervision of postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff, coordinating NIH-funded grant efforts with local, national, and international collaborators or independently, and active leadership in writing grants, reports, and manuscripts.

The Department of Genetics comprises a basic science faculty with diverse investigative interests and close affiliations with clinical departments at Penn Medicine as well as the neighboring Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Wistar Institute.
